Seen accounts 10 years old cancelled last year and one as far back as 2005. All people that changed over to DTV.

Having seen 3 friends in the same situation have their accounts closed because of that, I say again you are not allowed a bank account on a DTV. It is a tourist visa.

It is a tourist visa and you are not allowed to have a Thai income with it.

even for property owners, it is a tourist visa and you are not allowed to hold a bank account on a tourist visa

I live here and have done for decades and I know hundreds of Foriegners in Thailand and not just Farang. Will not be long before all bank accounts on non eligible visas are targetted. Especially if the opposite to a Shinawatra type government gets in.

I also know married people with condos that have had their accounts shut down. Only eligible visas like marriage visa/retirement visa can have bank accounts

House and condo have nothing to do with it, If your on a tourist visa (DTV is a tourist visa) You are not allowed to have a bank account. If your married, Retired or on other appropriate visa then you can have bank account. A friend just before Christmas has had his Bank Account closed. He not long got his DTV but had bank account for years.
