Unfortunately I don't think a screenshot will do any good to get an extension. It's not exactly surprising that immigration fails to follow through with their own procedures.

I think a glossary is indeed necessary. Many people seem to be confusing re-entry permits with visas, while they are entirely different things.

yes, that would work, or a tourist visa. Truth is, chances the airline will check your visa are very thin (never happened to me), but it is always a possibility.

The consulate in Marseille does not deliver visas. Only Paris and Lyon.
