What is the normal procedure for registering TM30 online in Thailand?

TM30 online.

My condo owner knew nothing about the TM30.

On Wednesday I spoke to him and he began the online registration.

On Saturday he got an email asking him to verify his email.

Today, he checked online and the status says waiting for approval.

Does this sound like the normal procedure for registering online?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The TM30 online registration process seems to be causing delays and confusion among expats. The initial step involves the condo owner or landlord registering online and confirming their email, after which they receive a status update, typically indicating 'waiting for approval.' This procedure can lead to lengthy waiting times, with some owners waiting weeks for usernames and passwords to finalize the registration. It is recommended to check spam folders for confirmation emails and to keep screenshots as proof of registration, as immigration might require it for extensions. If waiting for online registration becomes too cumbersome, expats can self-file the TM30 in person without affecting the landlord's pending registration process.

Yes, I know my condo owner has to wait for the username and password before he can complete the TM30.

I don't know anybody who has used the online registration all the way to completing the TM30.

So, I wonder how hotels have apparently been doing it for years.

Ok. Thanks, Tod.

Thanks for your good work on here. Invaluable.

nope, won't affect anything

Looks like the way to go.

If I self-file while my condo owner is waiting for an online username and password, will that cancel the online process that he started or will he eventually get the username and password?
Tod *********
@Jim ****
take a copy of your lease, your passport and a filled out TM.30 <- that YOU FILLED OUT (without using your landlords personal information) and you can file one.

By that I mean YOU fill out all the fields on the two page TM.30 in your name using the address where you live.

You will probably get an 800baht fine for failure to file within 24 hours of moving into where you live BUT you will have a TM.30 filed

I was just about to ask whether that was possible.

Is it possible that I could self file at CW while he waits the days or weeks for the username and password to come through?

it's just really backlogged. Another person who went to Chaengwattana today said they were told over 2000 people had applied to use the online system.

They were able to get their user name and temporary password while they were there. Maybe your land lord should go to file a TM.30 on you in person and ask about them getting their user name and password

So now it's system overload.

The 90 day report online is fantastic. I wonder why they couldn't use something similar for TM30.

Thanks for the info, Tod.
Tod *********
I know more than a few people who registered successfully, and use the system (I am one of them ;) )

It wasn't as back logged a month or two ago when people were registering to use the system like it is now with every Tom, Dick and Somchai registering to use it.

The hotels have been using it for years because there were so few of them registering that the approval came right back .

Okay, just so EVERYONE is clear. Registering to USE the online TM.30 program or application is NOT filing a TM.30 online :O

First you register to use the system, you get a confirmation email, you get a user name and temp password, you log in and change your password and then you can finally start filing a TM30 form online.

IF you have confirmed the email address but have not got a user name and temporary password you need to GO file a TM.30 in person.

Also check your spam folder, our username and password ended up there

@Roger ******
i got mine pretty fast but it was before all the news about the TM.30 overwhelmed the people running the system.

I know people who have waited over a month and not got a confirmation.

I'd say contact the immigration office and see what's up with your application to use the system.

@Tod ********
do you know how long time in between the email asking for confirmation of your email and the email with user/password?
Tod *********
haha (y) good advice. my user name/password email from them ended up in my spam folder too
Tod *********
@Jim ****
, I advised printing a screen shot of the data AFTER you have a user name and password and can start entering people into the TM.30 online system.

If you haven't got a user name & password you can't use the online system AND that means you've not filed a TM.30.

Yes, I know. The screenshot my condo owner sent was just showing me the 'waiting for approval' message.

I will provide an update to the group tomorrow

I registered more than a month ago, received the request to confirm my email after 3 days and then nothing. I’ve reviewed the platform several times and it simply says waiting approval. I’m heading to CW tomorrow and will attempt to ask how long it should take.
Ekaterina ************
From personal experiance and conversation with the officer last month, the owner needs to go to CW and confirm his paperwork there, they will send the password instantly. I waited for 4 weeks and after i went got my passwords in 1 hour. When i asked why is it taking so long, she said many are registering without the knowledge of the owner.

Amael. Tod advised printing a screenshot. That can be used to prove you have completed the TM30. After that, you would be allowed to get your extension.

That's the theory.
Amaël ******
My landlord has also been waiting on her username and password for more than 2 weeks.

Unfortunately I don't think a screenshot will do any good to get an extension. It's not exactly surprising that immigration fails to follow through with their own procedures.
Allan ******
@Amaël *****
my landlord is same position. Waited 2 weeks still no response
Roger *******
Jim i would send the screenshot to my email and print it from there.
Jaime *********

Roger. Yes. Tod and Robert's advice is to screenshot the approved information page as there is no print facility on the website.

I assume this can then be verified on the system at the immigration office to prove you have done it and proceed with an extension pf stay.
Roger *******
Jim, maybe one gets a receipt page which can be screenshoted after online tm30.

Roger. We seem to be in exactly the same waiting game.

Lara, commenting above has waited 3 weeks.

If hotels use the online registration for tourists, how quickly does that work?

And how would a tourist get an extension of their 30 days or 60 days if they don't have a TM30 receipt?
Roger *******
Jim, i have confirmed my email and i have no more info, but i am hoping for another email with user and password.
Jaime *********

Roger. On the online registration site where he first registered on Wednesday. He sent me a screenshot.

We're assuming that if/when he gets another email, it will have info on the next step.
Roger *******
Where did he see that his approval was pending?
Lara *********************
Ive been waiting 3 weeks for username & password, still "waiting for approval"
