Is there a reason behind the confidence that there will be an official announcement about visa amnesty in Thailand?

The confidence I have is in the fact that so many immigration officials are saying the same thing: “wait for an announcement.” Plus, Thailand usually takes care of people it needs. In the meantime, I’m staying focused on teaching 32 classes every week. And waiting for the announcement.

I have a one year VOA in Vietnam right now. It’s only available to US citizens.

We can get 60-day tourist visas in advance, which saves a trip to immigration within the first 30 days, and eliminates a border run until 90 days. It’s true US citizens can’t get VOA’s here, but we can get 1-year VOA’s in Vietnam.. which can be an easy border-run option (by air).
