Yes, you need to have an up-to-date TM30 registration irrespective of being married to a Thai citizen. The TM30 must be submitted by your landlord within 24 hours of your arrival, and it's essential for various immigration services such as annual extensions, 90-day reports, re-entry permits, and residence certificates. Thai immigration offices will not process any requests if you are not TM30 registered.

They can ask for everything if they have wook up on wrong side. Last time the officer suddenly ask for my old and expired passport, so I had to go home 75 km to get it, if I like to have my extension. No reason was explained.
You will need it when you will do the annual extension, some districts also want it for 90 days report, re entry permit and residence certificate.

Every foreigner need to be reported of his adres by his landlord, hotel staff.. within 24 hours of arriving. Married to a thai makes no difference. The key is... "every"
I didn't say married to- I said marriage visa. Immigration has come to my house and we've posed for photos together. It's pretty reasonable to wonder if this supersedes the TM30 system.
