In my experience insurance companies pay claims as promised IF everything is 100% correct, BUT you need to read and read pages of small print. The biggest loophole here is renting bikes, having a mishap and claim not paid. Why? Not only do you need a correct bike license from your country BUT also a IDP, many tourists are not aware of that. Then ANY sign of alcohol in the blood claim rejected, not wearing a helmet etc. My small print says if I am a passenger on a bike they only pay 50% of medical costs, if I use BOLT motorbike taxi who never provide a helmet, then they pay NIL of my costs. Yes many airlines checked at random now for either a visa or onward/return flight. Check with your airline or buy a cheap ticket to Cambodia which you can bin or if possible ask for refund

Myself I would forget outpatiet cover as generally those bills are low, and seek a much higher cover than 400,000 per year if you want to use international hospitals

room and board, this will only cover a very basic private room in government hospital, Banglamung new block is 2500 per night before nursing care

Immigration is not the problem, it would be your airline that possibly prevent you from boarding so best check with them

I would suggest you plan a visit here again soon, get a valid return ticket for 90 days, on arrival you receive the 60 day visa exempt, you can then go to immigration and get a further 30 day stay. So now you have 3 months to go to immigration, visa agents and get all the details, check out destinations where you intend to rent/live, research cost of living on a permanent basis, check out health insurance as hospital are great but can eat up your savings, open bank account etc and get prepared for the move here. It is very different to a holiday as it will be home for the future. Then return home to prepare for the 'move' get medical records, advise necessary businesses where you are going, prepare banking online and transferring funds and maybe selling up or shipping some belongings. I did this over a 6 month period to ensure everything was in order, it will save you time and money in the long term. Best of luck, I certainly have no regrets

@Morgan ******
does it includes ypur visit to neighbouring country & wait in hotel for a few days. Alternatively you pay for the services you need to save 500,000 baht and have it in a bank account anywhere but solely in your name

For many that be another year saving!

I'd start to gain knowledge about this visa Morgan by first scrolling through this group, so many write to thank for the assistance they achieved from it.

Many write where they went for the visa, what documents they gave or showed, how many days they waited etc
