TLDR : Answer Summary
UK passport holders are currently affected by a temporary suspension of the visa waiver program due to concerns over the coronavirus outbreak. However, they can still apply for a visa to enter Vietnam despite the suspension of visa exemptions.

This isn't a Vietnam visa advice group, however I believe you can still get a visa to enter Vietnam, just not a visa exempt. I suggest talking to the Embassy of Vietnam for more information.

UPDATE:

"Premier Nguyen Xuan Phuc suspended the visa waivers for eight European countries amid growing concerns about the novel coronavirus outbreak.

The decision to temporarily cancel visa-free travel for citizens of Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Spain followed a recommendation by the national steering committee on coronavirus prevention and control, according to a posting on the government’s website, which cited a cabinet meeting today."

Let me see:

Vietnam is seeking to temporarily halt

according to a proposal submitted

They are seeking and using a proposal, by reading the text it is like reading a comic book, it did not happen.

It may change in the future when Government agree

In the mean time continue life as it was.

It is a proposal...but will watch to see if enacted. It involves the visa exemption...(no visa required) ...

So a UK passport holder can APPLY FOR A VIETNAM VISA.
