Mine did not say on the evisa. The immigration officer asked me and i said retirement. Stamped in "O" , 90 days. I had to go to 2 banks to open the accoount. The first was lazy and just did did not want to open it. The second was most helpful. Kasikorn. I got my Thai licence first, they said the 2nd i.d. with my address same as my letter from immigration made it easier. Good luck. No stress.

Graham Seal The non o is for a maximum stay of 90 days. There is nowhere that is written that you need extend for 1 year, and there is nowhere that says you cannot have multiple non o visas, that i am aware of.

I did mine over xmas new years and it sat there pending document check until the day before i flew out. Took 15 working days. I did my tdac the day before i recieved my visa so stated that i was going for holiday, when i arrived with my non o retired they wanted clarification as my tdac contradicted my e visa. So do your tdac at the last minute, or update if you get your visa in time. Immigration were nice. No stress.

i am in phayakkaphumphisai, lady in bank was just.down right rude, to my wife, my non o is based on retirement, but she did not want to listen, went to SCB and they were terrific but need a letter from immigration addressed to SCB bank, so i figure if i have to go all the way back to Maharsarakham i might try the kasikorn there. I usedto have a Bangkok bank but of course they are just no helpful anymore.

Just tried opening kasikornbank in my little issan village, had everything, letter from immigration, non o visa, telephone letter, copies of everything. Rejected out right, without even looking at the paperwork. Said i had marry my thai wife in thailand. Been married over 30 years in Australia, lessen learnt, go to a big bank in a big town. Off to Maharsarakham tomorrow 90 minute drive. 😪😀
