My wife (philippine) had her app suspended while she was applying for her non b in Loas the thai embassy only exepted payment though a bank no cash , coursed her a hell of a problem as she did'nt have enough cash

Very much doubt local countryside plod would know the law on it , probably just laugh and send you on your way . Could be different in a big city

no need to stay if you don't want to I just used to go for a nice malay mutton curry and a bottle of Guinness and stamp back into Thailand after a couple of hours

I would say Malay border padang besar

Take a train or coach

I used to do the ranong / myanmar at victoria point which is closest to hua hin but not sure if its still open
