The DTV is a tourist visa, and none of these category of visas are usually 6 months.

So it seems to be DTV.

Also the DTV visa is only for 6 months, after which you must leave the country before reentering right?

At that time you may need to repeat all your document requirements of proof for study, bank account etc

Maybe enquire with an immigration officer?

One year left means that you have one year left and will need to renew it if you want to travel.
