I have to agree besides paying all the fees to get into Laos now just not worth the hassle. Did enjoy the drama one time when a Euro with his monthly rental hired a long boat to enter illegally. Another criminal genius that somehow made it into Thailand.

Has the embassy website changed ? So Sanannaket still offers one year multiple entry Type O visas for marriage (without) a bank account?

I really don,t think it is that difficult to deal with. Just be aware rumor has it the Savannakhet office no longer offers multiple entry Type O visas.

The Thai government proved during Covid they had no concerns about foreigners with a Thai wife or children. My hunch is many died having left Thailand unable to return in time leaving many Thai women without a husband or father. It was all about $$$ for the insurance companies and their buddies making $$$ off of those suffering zero regard for the foreigner. That is seriously screwed up! If anyone else ends up having to leave just make sure the Thai government understands it will be paying the family bills for now on not you. Just explain the situation to the family and leave when your visa is up. See Ya!
