I lived in Davao ph for 3yrs and Thailand for 2.

Thailands infrastructure is better, also cost for quality.

Thai food is better, and cheaper for what it is.

Downsides are the visa.

it’s different now, you need to show bank statements now, I just got mine a few weeks ago

i plan on doing that as a 2nd option ( i will be going in 1 week to laos for a tourist visa), but initially i will just show them 60k in thai baht cash.

right, I see on the embassy website they may require you to show 3 months of ur own bank info. But a Thai bank wouldn’t make much sense
