Short pants are fine, as long as you wear long trousers. Write where you will spend your first night. Write that you have no guarantor. That they ask for a fax number tells you how closely they’ll be scrutinising your answer. 😉

That’s some twisted logic there. Tourists from anywhere are not in a blanket sense ‘less fortunate than ourselves’. Those who clearly are less fortunate than us are people who risk their lives to get to a country and arrive with next to nothing.

You seem to resent that, yet then tell us how ‘modern society should be ashamed’.
