The user mentions they are currently in Chiang Mai and are concerned about their upcoming visa expiration date. They are looking for advice on the optimum time to apply for a Non-O visa before their COVID visa expires on November 22, as well as any additional information related to this process.

are you going to calculate this with all the posts that name a city? You must be very proud saving all that money😂. Have to say you sound like a little schoolboy with his milk money but whatever floats your boat right. Mexico is nice though.
who cares mate, your not in Thailand, good for you. How much did you save by not going to Bali or Auckland? Whats the context? What are you trying to say?
airfares. 1 year insurance for OA visa. Visa application. 10 nights ASQ...plus goodness knows how much the stupid new required 3 million baht insurance will cost me. I just want to enjoy Life FFS!😎🤣🤣

Hahaha. My question got lost somehow. It is about getting a Non-‘O’ visa, prior to applying for an extension based on marriage. My COVID visa expires on Nov 22. What is the optimum time to apply for the ‘non-O’? Also grateful for any other info. You know where I am. 😉

And I should have said ‘COVID extension’ rather than ‘COVID visa’ 😉
No worries mate. Reason I ask is because with the covid extension, the ability to change visas in country depends on what your visa was before you went on the covid extension. Exempt or tourist visas are fine.

Giovanni No, the OA visa is finished once you transition to the covid extension. You'd have to restart a new visa, but a Non-OA can't be obtained in country (even during covid).

Giovanni You can also obtain pad thai and a sex change in country too. Stop mixing and matching things. A Non-O and Non-OA visa are two DIFFERENT visas with different requirements.
Great. 30 days before would be ideal, I believe CM immigration requires at least 15 days left on your current stamp to apply for a Non-O. You'll need 400k baht in a Thai bank account in your name, but it doesn't need to be seasoned for 60 days until you apply for the yearly extension.
In Chiang mai you need a minimum of 21 days left on your current stamp to apply for the in country Non-Imm visa because it goes under review for 20 days before you go back and get the Non-O visa and new 90 day stamp inked in
you don't have enough time on your current stamp to apply SO go apply for a 60 day covid extension again before this stamp expires and THEN you will have the time needed to apply for the in country Non-O at the Chiang Mai immigration office
hi garret - I don’t understand. There are 31 days left on my current extension. Sorry if I’m being a bit thick. 🙂 How does this equate to me having fewer than 21 days left?
