VFS notorious and unnecessarily troubling procedures . They force you to spend and do leg work. Should be abolished if that country wants more tourists.

Used VFS to get a visa for my wife to the UK. Very invasive application procedure. Do not like them one bit far supperior service when at the embassay. Guess itcwas done by some government civil servant to make someone rich

VFS is merely a collection agency. The decision on UK visas applied for in Thailand is actually made by the UK Passport Office in India

you do not need the middle man. It can be done by the embassy. Having dealt with VFS I was not impressed. It is just a money making machine.

I think outsourcing is a standard process these days. And realistically in Thailand so many expats are being scammed by visa agents, VFS is comparatively cheap

For UK visas from Thailand there's no choice. You have to use VFS

UK government makes the decisions on outsourcing, so it's not a Civil Servant making someone rich, it will almost certainly have been the Conservative Minister that made the decision.

same thing. Ultimately the Home Office would give advice. However I beleive that VFS started processing passports in 2003 and that would be Labour. But who is the major shareholders, Blackstone. Nuf said.

They are the out-sourced agents for the UK government for Visa applications and passport renewals etc. You have no choice but to use them as when you start an application on a UK government website it will direct you to the VFS Global portal to continue the process. I've used then for a UK Visitor Visa.
