Tod Daniels Actually , I had visas several times from Hong Kong, with my passport full of other SETVs, and it was one of the easiest places to apply (up until summer of last year). It's just recently it appears they became nasty. Or maybe they prejudged based on looks who knows. I'd seriously try next day at a different counter.
There are other more recent reports of succesful applicants in HK.
There are ways to differentiate troll posts from genuine ones. In some cases, user just signed up "yesterday", in other cases older username with zero posting over the last year or so. Pedantic writing also, which raises some alarms. All in all, I would call that poster a troll.
However, if real, there are always other Immigration offices to try as Tod said.
As proof of payment he would take the last page of the airasia pdf confirmation (receipt). The pdf comes as attachement to the email sent by Air Asia. In the case of Thai Lion Air, the pdf file is an e-ticket/ receipt (one page only), so those should be good enough. Both confirm payment. But obviously a mastercard statement is even more solid.
Airport tax can be claimed back online from the Air Asia website. For flights departing from DMK it's about 700 baht. Comes back to the card after a few weeks. It cuts the loss.
Yeah 2 years ago he was accepting the flights within 90 days. I can screenshot his posts on ThaiVisa. Sorry if that turned out to be an inconvenience, that's what I meant by "they keep changing their stories as the wind blows". Thanks for the report.
Can be done before also but only works if you intend to do that first then queue at Immi 2 for the exit stamp. On premium lane or Immi 3 you are basically forced to do it after, but there is no issue with that.
