SCB ask you to provide yellow book, Krugshri wants you to have a full retirement visa, not just the AO 3 month visa, the full O 12 months retirement, I believe kasikorn is relatively easy also.

Usually Bangkok bank is easy, get a letter from your landlord, hotel, if living with your girl she can go with you, need to go immigration with residency letter to get a letter from immigration to open a back account, usually 500 baht, then go to the bank.

go to Laos, Nong Khai to Vientiane by the friendship bridge

You can fly to Udonthani from Bangkok however many people go either by bus or by train from Bangkok to Nong Khai then tuk tuk to the friendship bridge to cross over

You can catch the night train with sleeping- very nice ride approximately $1,000 baht

They have upper and lower bunks, lower is bit more expensive but worth it, they have power points next to each bunk for charging phone ect

Train arrives in Nong Khai in the morning, you can cross over and straight back in about 1 hour depending on how many ppl are crossing then night train back to bkk, train also goes through Korat Nakhon Ratchasima train station

Just go into immigration and notify change of address

I have never used an agent however have met ppl who have, maybe make a post asking for information on agents, you could find one in bkk if that is where you are near or engage one closer to the boarder, suggest posting in Udonthani expats - Udonthani is only 60klm from Nong Khai, she can fly - bus or train from bkk to Udonthani then meet the agent to go to the boarder

A border run can be done in 1 day to Laos via Nong Khai can fly to Udonthani then minivan to the border

Or can catch the sleeper train ( very nice ride ) leaving bkk in the evening arriving Nong Khai in the morning- crossing the boarder and returning to bkk that night

Recommend going to Laos, it is the easiest boarder crossing, can fly back into Thailand and will receive 45 days visa exemption as she still has about 9 months on her emergency passport. She can also cross back into Thailand by land, there are also agents who take ppl over and back for an extra fee.

1800 baht for visa on arrival into Laos

Plus agent fee if goes with agent

When new passport arrives attend immigration to have the new passport registered with immigration

found it, very small tear at the top of the page, this would have been caused by an immigration officer at some point changing pages as I am not rough with my passport, this damage is on an old passport
