This is the latest advisory on the Australian Embassy website, it appears they are starting to accept that some Australians cant or don't want to return to Australia. But they ask you initially try to resolve the matter with Thai immigration directly.

Perhaps tell your friend to email them, advise he has been unsuccessful & requires a letter from them?

If you're in BKK just jump on a VISA van to Maynamar border. Cost you 2k & they have you there & back in 6 to 8 hours

Interesting, my company operates in a very niche field (space technology) & has burgeoning ties with Thai defense & space agency.

But if I read this correct the WP would require Thai collaborator to write letter saying that they need a company representive to be here to support our product or service?

Is this correct?
