 I said this four weeks ago. ED visas, non-O retirement, marriage and volunteer are all redundant. Who in their right minds would get one of these clunky, overregulated visas when they can get a streamlined DTV at a cheaper price? I'm going to change to DTV from retirement before next extension

 ED visa has to be extended every 90 days up to a maximum of one year so easy for immigration to monitor this. With DTV, once it's issued there is no requirement to visit immigration. As

 suggests, there's no way to monitor this, and if a gym has taken an application in good faith, they cannot force the applicant to attend.
