The main point of my post was just to inform others who thought they could extend based on the information we had been told at application that it’s not easy !! And actually 10 x easier to just go do a border run.

If I hadn’t read the posts on here after I had been to immigration to look up land borders I wouldn’t have know so much about how difficult the extension process is and I wanted to also share my experience ☺️

it is more difficult when you have health issues and can’t fly 😬 it’s the main reason DTV was appealing to me so I wouldn’t have to leave as often as for me to leave and come back I have to go via a land border. Now I KNOW I can pre-plan better but it’s frustrating when it says online in all information that you can extend after 6 months that’s all 🤷🏻‍♀️

I can’t fly for medical reasons so …. 😬 that’s why the DTV was appealing to me. Now I know I can pre-plan a land border run

SincereGrape4256 yes I agree it’s just frustrating when they accept your application with the proof of a 1 year soft power course booking and a 1 year house rental agreement to then have to leave after 6 months 😅🫠

GrayWallaby8130 because it says online and when doing the application process that you can extend ‘easily’ so that’s what I believed until I had my lived in experience of it not being easy!

I can’t fly for medical reasons which is why the DTV visa was appealing to me so I wouldn’t have to leave every 6 months as it’s more difficult for me to do so as I don’t fly so takes a few days and organising to go to a land border.

It’s just frustrating that it says one thing but then makes it so difficult to do so. But that’s Thailand and I get that I wasn’t frustrated or angry about not being able to extend I made it work and got to a land border just frustrating when it says one thing then contradicts it that’s all 🤷🏻‍♀️

we are staying in Hat Yai for the night, we like it! We would’ve never come here if we hadn’t had to do the border run so grateful for that! We definitely will have to go back and explore Malaysia properly
