You fly to ubon or khon khaen, i didnt find it so difficult and there aren't tourist so everything was faster, less noise, less chaos. Savannaketh very good, i also rent a motorbike.

Savannaketh is not harder, i have been there. You just need passport and bank statememt and that is all.
