my visa on arrival is expiring jan1. All visa consultants I’ve spoken with say leave Thailand for Laos, apply for a single entry visa, wait for approval, fly back to Bangkok.

I didn’t know the mess I was falling into by not getting a long term visa and now I will pay for it, likely total cost of over $2000 usd . My fault. I ignored my girlfriend’s advice to get a long term visa. Now I will give up my cozy accommodation for the possibility of a 30 day wait in Lao for my visa

Don’t be like Brian. It’s a new visa regiment and it could cause you similar headaches.
