I found it so hard to believe I actually had to go to the embassy site to read it. Yes they expect you to have 3, million baht in a Thai bank account. This is such a nonstarter, why does the Thai government waste their time. Can’t these people find a sex partner instead of sitting around and doing this apparent masturbatory exercise on a weekly basis?

from what I understand you have to be in your home country to use the STV and it Has to be a low risk country.

Although I advise against it, you could explore the option of purchasing the Thai elite visa. There is a Facebook group for that if you Google it

Unfortunately, because the bar is set very low for the effectiveness of the vaccine, only greater than 50%, it is doubtful that it will make a difference in Thailand immigration policies. I wish it was otherwise.

Yes, I saw the same article. But also I know there are thousands of individuals who comply under the waiver categories who are have already been waiting in line- Fact- an American I know married to someone in the royal family was stranded in America when the border closed, and he is just finishing his quarantine. So, if this where we are 7 months after border closure, I find it hard to be optimistic TEV will grease the skids significantly. Let's see where we are in a month. Remember there are thousands of TEV holders out there, and reports are Chinese are buying them eagerly.

That sounds good. One less problem to worry about.

I’m not trying to be argumentative, but for example, Anatara says it has 145 rooms available from October 5 forward. I am going to assume, may be wrong, but 145 rooms is his total capacity, which would be a respectable number. And I am almost positive several if not many of those rooms are filled. So I interpret this as being a little deceptive. For myself, I found this the best tact to take when dealing with information coming from the Thai government or any official body in that country. But of course, everyone is free to their own interpretation

I don’t think anybody outside of the upper echelons of power can answer that, and because the waters are churning so much The counsel I am taking is to wait until I see more clarity And maybe what’s more important, consistency, not a policy that pops up and then disappears every week. Last I Read in the newspaper the S TV policy is now on hold

I’ve seen a number of posts where people say they can’t find a room until December. Maybe they’re looking to lowball the rate. I don’t know. I would say everybody agrees there’s no shortage of people trying to get in

I don’t know what you mean by thousands that’s a pretty nebulous number. But let’s say 5000.÷ 80 which would come out to about 55 rooms dedicated to quarantine per hotel. We don’t know if these hotels are dedicating their entire hotel to quarantine or not. So let’s say you have 5000 rooms, and they’re turning over twice a month, Actually slightly less cause you’re staying for 15 nights, so that comes to 333 people a day you’re processing through. If you want to really question the math, please be specific. I’m always eager to learn something new.
