Not too bothered when I can get in but if I apply for a Thai Elite Visa does that visa starts from day 1 of entry or from when you obtain it?
Ideally just want to do the 5 years 500k baht.
Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Thai Elite Visa validity begins when the visa is issued and placed in your passport, not from your entry date into Thailand. Members of the program receive a five-year visa along with an additional six months under certain conditions. Recent news has indicated difficulties some elite visa holders faced in returning to Thailand, highlighting potential bureaucratic challenges following the payment and approval process.

In the past the visa was put in your passport when you arrived in BKK, i don't know if it's put in with the date you paid or the date it was put in the passport
Just an FYI before you spend a lot of money. I saw some news about Visas in Thailand yesterday (article below) and they said that elite visa holders have been allowed to return to TL since August, but because of the bureaucracy, only 50 of them have been successful in returning.
im not botherer when I can get in mate. Be it 1 month or later next year. Question just about is it worth sorting it out now or later 🙂

Yes, I saw the same article. But also I know there are thousands of individuals who comply under the waiver categories who are have already been waiting in line- Fact- an American I know married to someone in the royal family was stranded in America when the border closed, and he is just finishing his quarantine. So, if this where we are 7 months after border closure, I find it hard to be optimistic TEV will grease the skids significantly. Let's see where we are in a month. Remember there are thousands of TEV holders out there, and reports are Chinese are buying them eagerly.
