I know it may not seem to Have any direct impact on us, but would Thai airways run commercial flights to destinations outside of Thailand, only to return the planes empty, I know the company has a reputation of being very poorly run And is emerging out of bankruptcy, but wouldn’t that be a very financially poor decision? So maybe these flights are in anticipation of bringing foreigners back to Thailand. Let’s wait and see..

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion highlights concerns and insights regarding Thai Airways' operational strategy during a period of reduced passenger travel. Users speculate on whether the airline would operate flights to international destinations without taking on passengers, possibly to maintain pilot hours or due to financial arrangements. Comments mention that Thai Airways may be preparing for increased repatriation flights to bring foreigners back to Thailand, as there are significant numbers of people eagerly awaiting return.
I don't work for TG, but I do work for an international airline and we have flown almost daily into BKK for the last 6 months. Not once have there been passengers. But the holds were full of cargo - frequently the cabin was also full of cargo (strapped into the seats). In the absence of passengers, it keeps some income until we're allowed to carry passengers again.
Driving into the airport there must have been upwards of 150 TG jets parked up on the runway....so it is good to know that a % of these are being used for cargo flights.
They’re probably gonna fly to destinations that they don’t owe money to or where they’ve rented planes for fear of them being repossessed for non payment.
They are already launching a service where they fly you out of Thailand and then land in an airport in another country without letting anyone off to then just to bringing you back.
Andy Beange What evidence did you base your prediction, crystal ball moment or genuine information? I did note your comment a few weeks back and I had heard whispers of this myself, but was not about to put my head above the pulpit on this forum, to have it shot down. Equally with rising cases in the UK, things went quite from my source. Incidentally your "prediction" would ring true with the scheduled dates released, working on rolling weeks. 😉
Edward Nathan You left wing nut jobs. Your CNN etc are trying to say the PROUD BOYS are a white supremacist group .Haha which is highly amusing as it is led by a black man ( photo supplied)
Your Democrat party and the left wing news media are a joke
my wife works there and they try to get all cabin staff and pilots licences maintained though those flights. their simulator is now busy with making money for leasure customers...I have this info first hand but believe what you want....cabin staff and simulators too 🤣😂
