I had found this through this group and I don’t know who to give credit to but this one looked good for that purpose.

I was asked to show proof of funds on my first time coming back from getting my DTV approved. Was in immigration “jail” for two hours for their investigation before letting me through. They seem to be scrutinizing your arrival and any abuse of the visa system.

Anonymous participant I was in there probably a couple of hours. Yes it was a nightmare, but a good story to tell though lol. They wanted to check my bank account to make sure I can support myself during my stay. Even though I had already provided those documents in Hanoi. They are scrutinizing people abusing the visa system. I was told by one of the immigration officers that they are getting a lot of abuse from the ed visa and visa on arrivals.

Yes, recently approved in Hanoi for soft power. Got thrown in immigration jail on the way back in though. They did whatever investigation and I was released back into Thailand.
