tried that, but since I am two weeks late with filing it just always told me: only possible in the first 24 hours and then wouldn’t let me proceed. So I opted for the in person option.
The first time I Applied for the STV it took my good a month to get all documents together and I am very lucky to have many friends in Thailand that helped me out quite a bit with my apartment and my insurance. Else it would have taken much longer. It still was quite a lot of hassle and documents but once you are thru the immigration all worry falls away until the extension 😂. It was partially very nerve recking and without help I would have been very lost 😂😂. Germans do not need a certificate of conduct luckily for the STV application (or at least I didn’t need it). So when I applied for the STV a second time in the beginning of December I already had most of my documents ready and really just needed to upload them. Personally the STV fits me very well because all I really do is travel in Thailand but if you would like to stay up to 6 month and do some volunteering or learning Thai it’s really worth to then get an ED or Non O visa. Best of luck to you and safe travels.
If miss corona will let me I will be moving in the middle of 2022 to another country anyway and then it will be a few years until I return to Thailand. So for now I don’t need to worry about a different visa ☺️.
