With all the correct paperwork it can be done immediately, you then have 24hrs to depart Thailand or apply for a 7 day extension to the 24hrs

There is no straight forward answer as all cases are different in occupation and locations, I was with a Logistics company whose head office was in Khon Kaen, I had both my visa and work permit within 3 weeks.
