I stay with METV for 2 month, then do a border run and repeat after 2 months again. after doing the last border run and staying for 2 more months, can extend for one month more. so it is 8+1 months.

yeah, bus is cheap if you go only to Vientiane, but I plan to go and travel in Lao for a few weeks with my own car instead of renting it there. Can you please give some guidance, how to do that properly?
