Hi dears, How often I can extend a METV? Some told me, I can extend after every 60 days for another 30 days, so I could stay 270 days, others told me, I only can extend 1 time for 30 days, wich means I only could stay 210 days.

I need to know correct, because I would like to stay about 270 days in Thailand until I'm getting 50 years in march 2019. Thank you very much.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) allows you to stay in Thailand for a total of up to 270 days if you plan carefully. You typically get 60 days upon entry, which can be extended for an additional 30 days at immigration. However, you must exit the country and re-enter to reset the 60-day period. Most responses indicate that you can extend each 60-day stay for 30 days only once, leading to a possible total stay of around 9 months. To maximize your stay, consider doing border runs to ensure you utilize the extension correctly.

I stay with METV for 2 month, then do a border run and repeat after 2 months again. after doing the last border run and staying for 2 more months, can extend for one month more. so it is 8+1 months.

Question with a METV - say you enter first 60 days with intention of extending for 30. But leave on day

and come back in. Will the visa people issue a new 60 day period when you come back in or are you still part of the 60 days?

Thanks - okay, so basically that’s why you say if you come in on last day before it expires, you get an extra 60 days? And then you can extend for 30 again?

the visa is unlimited entries/exits during the 6 months it's valid, EVERY time you enter the country you get stamped in for another 60 days.

Whether you get a 30 day extension on every 60 day entry or not doesn't matter at all. It's the LAST 60 day entry you do on the METV just prior to your 'enter before' date on the visa and the 30 day extension you get on that entry that pushes the time to about 9 months.

So that means it will be better like this: 60+60+60+60(last entry before on stamp) and then + 30 days, right?

People have posted here calculating how to get maximum days out of a METV. Some suggest only using the 60 day Permissions to Stay (and only using one 30 day Extension at the very end - after the last border bounce to get the last 60 days.

If you like to stay 270 days you have to leave and come back into Thailand on the day before or the Enter Before Date mentioned on the Visa, you will get than 60 days and you can extend that with 30 days at local Immigration.

You can extend every 60 day period ONCE with 30 days.

Thanks, yes I know I have to leave Thailand, but I need to know, how many times I can extend after 60 days. Because some told me I only can extend one time for another 30 days, and not every time after 60 days
