The branch will require you to show your bank book and your passport which they will photocopy (natch) and ask you to sign. They will then print a form saying what you have asked for. Make sure it is correct. For safety get 13 months not 12. They will then ask head office to email the statement to you. My most recent one took only 24 hours. Print out the statements.
Then go back to the branch. Withdraw a thousand from the atm (assuming you will still have >800k left!) and update your bank book. Go into the branch and ask for a certificate of balance which will cost you a small fee. Take all of the docs to the IO.
I didn’t but the reality is that the local amphur can make it easy or hard. With mine it was reasonably straightforward once they were persuaded that it had to be done.
Kenneth Owens agent is getting your passport stamped thru illegal means. One day that agent might upset someone and get taken down and your visa investigated. It can happen. Not saying it will. But it could.
Safety. You miss a monthly payment, it gets misclassified, you forget. Whatever. Miss a payment and maybe your renewal is declined. You just need to be disciplined and check every transaction immediately.
Put 805k in the bank for the first year. Leave it alone. Lazy but safe.
