I did do it on tourist visa and on work visa but not looked into setting up on DTV visa but I do not understand, why would you be able to set one up on tourist visa but not DTV

just go to Bangkok bank branch and it should be easy enough.

I managed to open two bank accounts myself without any issues or get yourself a Thai girlfriend and take her with you to help you out.

You can even open a bank account on a tourist visa there#

it's possible to do it by yourself and just have to pay for the debit card.

sometimes they might want part of the deposit to reserve the unit but never heard of paying a reservation fee ontop of the rent and deposit.
