You're right about the age of the bike and it's 1st check only. The "certified service center" at the DLT and those spread all over the City are the same and the processing fee as well. You can bring your bike/ car to any Center with this sign and get Tax and insurance updated in one step. Drop today, pick-up tomorrow. In Phuket the DLT might be located central. here in Pattaya nobody goes to the DLT as it's fkn far outside the city.
no agent, no service. You have to pass a test with your vehicle every year. At those test centres you drop your green book, get the bike tested and pick up the book the next day. It's taxed and insured and tested in one step. You may do it at the DLT, but why driving there if you find branches all over the city?
I never went to the DLT for that. Every Motorbike Shop offers that service as well as all Test Center, where you need to go anyway. For me it was a one-step job for the past 12 years.
Good to know. I did it 2 years ago. Not sure if there was an App those days. Yesterday I got the 2 year license changed to the 5 years one. No video required for it, only colour blind test and reaction test. Easy w/o agent.
4000,- for nothing. You still have to do all paperwork by yourself and have to visit the DLT twice and get the certificate of residence yourself. Better spend the 4k in Soi6.
Go to the DLT, get an appointment and the list of required docs. You will need a certificate of residence from Immigration and a doctors certificate from any clinic (100.- THB). If you don't have an IDP, a translation of your local DP might be required. Another requirement will be watching some video. I did it at my nearby driving school and payed 200,- for the certificate. That's it. Pop-In at DLT on date of appointment, make a reaction test and sight test, pay your licence (about 300,- for car and moto), wait again for the photo shooting, wait a last time to receive the licences.
For each licence you need 1 doctors certificate and 1 certificate of residence!
