, I believe there is no rational reason. If you asked 30 different immigration officers that question, you would get 30 different answers. 😂

, I hope not since it is a very easy process. I will not be trying to obtain another visa until next year. Hopefully things will have calmed down by then.

I have never been required any amounts in a Thai bank since I have returned home each year and applied for a new visa at the Thai Consulate in Los Angeles. Very simple process and only need about 700 US dollars in my American bank account. I am hoping not much changes by next year when I go back for a new visa. Anyone else doing the same thing?

@Chris *****
, still too much money. I will be waiting for a vaccine or meet my family in Vietnam.

I am not an Australian citizen, but contacting your home government never hurts. I believe that the pressure from other countries helped put spouses of Thai nationals on their radar. We are now on the list of individuals who can apply for entry into Thailand but still too many hoops. I am waiting for next year when there will hopefully be a vaccine. Much of the current restrictions should change by then.

That is all a pipe dream. It will be reported that the countries Thailand wants to come visit have little or no Covid cases and all others they don't want have high case rates and are a danger to Thailand. All BS.

, no such thing as Covid free these days. It just depends on who is doing testing and who is not.
