just out of interest regarding police check in your own country,, I assume the page in your passport (UK )with No Official Observations across the top does not meet the requirements and you need a proper police check certification?? TIA ..

Again many thanks for the information,, it can be confusing as to what is correct,, having seen numerous agencies offering services to help get visas of different types, and most of them state the Money in bank scenarios.. I will investigate your suggestion as having that amount of money tied up in a bank account does appear a little extreme.. options of interest many thanks

Thanks I look forward to coming next year and hopefully being granted a retirement visa.. the information came from Thai immigration via an expat . No doubt he was not understanding the explanation regarding his situation regarding visa
