i did this is April with AIS & Kasikorn, now 2 months later my accounts been frozen anyway. My advice, dont hold all your money in the Thai account as you never know when they will try some bullshit like this.

OK that's good so it's in the 72 hours running up to arrival then. That's not so bad. No doubt it will be a pain for the first while with teething issues!

Must be 72 hours before arriving at latest? Not ideal for people like myself who have short notice flights booked home from work.

Or am I misinterpreting it and it's between 72 and 0 hours of arriving? Which would allow for short notice flights

Would be good to see if it is accurate and true, but likelihood of that is low i would imagine.

going by the nature of his question, i assumed he has been to thailand in the past. Therefore it doesnt take a rocket scientist to understand what hes actually asking. Majority of people on here love to belittle people. The first answer given was no help to anyone.

The answer you are looking for is yes you do. Advised to bring copy of onward/return flight ticket,

Accomodation confirmation, travel insurance confirmation and 20,000baht (£550 or so) in cash, just to be on the safe side.

The correct terminology doesnt really matter.
