schedule, so I was in and out frequently by air. Immigration grew tired of it after about 2 yrs. Told me to get an appropriate visa. He gave me a card for a visa service, which I’m sure he gets a cut 🤷♂️. I was over the 50yr old mark so I bit the bullet and got the visa.
My wife was rejected twice before we married. You won’t be allowed to accompany her into the consulate.
They really are tough on single ladies into the US
Didn’t matter all the documents we had accumulated and prepared. They wouldn’t even look at it. Our long history together, my guarantee as sponsor, evidence of her being a business owner, her income, house owner, mother, … all proof of her intent to return to Thailand. I also was baffled.
We wound up using an agent to navigate the system, but again was after our marriage. She got her 10yr visa couple years ago.
I just xfer several thousand USD funds in USD from my US institution directly to my Bangkok bank. The Bangkok account number and SWIFT is saved in my account and done in seconds. Does take Bangkok Bank 1day to do whatever they do manually for it to be shown into my Bangkok account. Never had any hiccups. No fees from my US institution, any currency conversion fees are unseen but seem to be minimal. Also use my US ATM card to withdraw cash, also no transaction fees. Max I’m allowed to withdraw from my US ATM is $500, I do THB 15K. Do be aware of ATMs that could be tampered with but that is a caution globally anyway. I have a habit of only using ATMs in 24HR highly visible areas and still inspect the machine for tampering evidence.
