Driven by oecd membership. They created a new visa class for wealthy pensioners, so they are still able to offer tax free status to certain demographics. It seems foolish to disincentive retiree's, they spend their money here and are the least likely to work. I am hoping a major rethink. Extending the 60 day stamps, DTV which I am sure is pissing off the elite visa holders. LTR visa excludes many, why? No point, only loose money!

Agreed on that but, and this is applicable to us all, we need to be able to prove what we say, currently few if any have any experience with presenting documents to prove our tax position, this will be a work in progress for some time to come.

yes exactly, the loophole has been removed and the gov has told the RD to fully implement the law. A new broom sweeps clean. Add to this TH joined the OECD.
