Depends on the office, at most offices you can do it at any time.

You can not get or pay for the extension online.

When you are in Thailand you have to go to the immigration office to get the extension and pay cash.

Nobody knows if or when they are changing the visa exempt duration in the future.

Don’t forget that most airlines will require to see an onward ticket within the 60 day period (for a visa exempt entry) during check-in.

A DTV is a tourist visa and you are limited what you can do, no bank account for example, so not recommended for a retired person.

It’s officially always possible to apply for the extension at any stage during your stay.

But some immigration offices can be just a little bit difficult about this.

Why ask questions about something which isn’t an issue at all at the moment.

You can apply for the extension at any stage of your stay but some immigration offices ask you to do it within the last 30 days for some reason.

Which numbers ?

I never said how much customers they lost due to the increased scrutiny.

And it’s save to assume that the (almost) biggest bank of Thailand has multiple millions of customers. 😳

Lost hundreds of customers over millions in total customers, I don’t think they really care 😂
