If you are using the account as normal you don’t have any issues.

Most people who are complaining are at their own fault.

Correct, only blocked in case the 800.000 baht is deposited at the last moment, this is against the visa agents who lend the money.

Most people don’t have any issues with Bangkok Bank, only if you deposit the 800.000 baht just before you require the statement they will ask questions and/or have extra requirements.

This is done against agents who lend the money only for the visa application.

Officially you need a onward ticket when travelling on a visa exempt entry.

Thailand airport immigration is normally not really concerned about it but most airlines will refuse check-in without it as they are responsible in case you are denied entry.
