You should apply for 3 months visa BEFORE you travel and then start the process for getting bank account set up and retirement visa application

@Sandor *******
That was no doubt noted on your passport records with immigration and enough for the immigration officer to take a closer look at your travel history and become suspicious you are not a genuine tourist.

One small mistake is all it takes..

I think your only option is to apply for a tourist visa before you try entering again..

If you cannot get one then consider Phnom Penh Cambodia as that's an interesting place to visit and long term visa are easier to get if you have money..

So what you are really saying you can stay as long as you like by using border runs for a long period of time but you trap yourself in Thailand because if you leave for any period of time there is a chance you will be refused entry if you try to return?

Doesn't sound very smart way to do things and as already pointed out also quite expensive.

Yes I understand very well how border runs work..

But why was he refused entry back into Thailand ?

Immigration must have had a reason for refusing entry

Did you overstay your visa or visa exemption in the past ?

180 days is quite a long time in Thailand..

How did you stay that long without overstay ?

YES, its no problem and won't have any problems coming or going from Thailand like that.

For Cambodia you can do visa on arrival..

For Vietnam you must have visa before you travel and you don't have time to do Evisa anyway..

Takes 4 to 5 business days for processing..

Unless you pay any agent for fast processing..

Cambodia would be easier and you could go to either Siem Reap or Phnom Penh..

Doesn't matter, but Phnom Penh is probably more interesting if you don't want to visit temples of Angkor in Siem Reap..

Or you could even consider a flight to Malaysia as well which I don't think requires any visa for short visit for you..

Not sure about Thai citizens.

YES..

Every time you enter Thailand you get another 60 days VISA EXEMPTION entry..

If you plan to stay longer than 45 days in Vietnam on a British passport then you need to apply for a visa BEFORE you travel.

British passport holders are allowed 45 days entry to Vietnam without a visa before they travel.

ITS NOT A VISA ON ARRIVAL !

It's a visa exemption entry for 60 days..

VISA EXCEMPTION means you are exempt from needing a visa and get an entry stamp in your passport indicating your visa exemption exit date
