Yes, you will know if it's an insurance case. Not hard to withdraw case files on a damage car here in Thailand. Just that no one have gathered it all like back home (carverteco or what's the name?) doesn't mean they don't exist.
Most insurance case cars that get damaged goes to auction, It's either written off fully as a parts car and can never drive on the road again or as a lightly damaged car. Flooded ones get deregistered and cannot be registered again. So "you never know is just bullshit".
I would be more worried about the condition of the engine than the actual structure, but that cost about 15-20k at top to fix. But if you like loosing 600k in a second, go with a new one 😉
