I chose to submit my application at the Ho Chi Minh City Consulate because I had previously submitted documents there when applying for a work permit. The consulate staff were very friendly and left a positive impression on me. Additionally, it was an opportunity for me to return to Vietnam and enjoy Vietnamese food. Other than that, there were no special reasons.😅

Honestly, I'm not sure about online submissions. I applied at the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where I scheduled my appointment online and then went to the consulate to submit hard copies, as they required them. However, it seems that many people have successfully submitted their applications online from other countries. I recommend checking other posts about the DTV visa in the group for more insights. Since requirements may vary by location, it’s a good idea to email the embassy or consulate in the countries you're considering. This way, you can choose the option that is most suitable and convenient for you. I also reached out to the consulate via email to confirm the required documents before my visit.😁

Hi, you will need a marriage certificate if your partner is applying as a dependent. If you don’t have one, I suggest applying for a DTV visa for her as a student instead. In this case, prepare two separate sets of documents. You can submit the application from any location outside of Thailand.

I prepared all the required documents and brought a photo to attach to the application form, which I’ll get directly from the consulate.

For the appointment, I just booked it through the link on their website and chose the earliest available date (on Monday). I didn't hear anything about needing to submit any forms two weeks before the appointment.
