You’d think it would be easy but it’s not.

I used an agent and it cost me around 15,000 baht for their fee and the visa fee.

I had to supply 6 months bank statements, a letter of sponsorship, proof of my employment and a letter / dated photos of how we met and proof of our relationship.

My GF had to send 6 months bank statements and also a letter telling her reasons for the visit and also reasons why she would be returning to Thailand, giving them proof of that

Documents then have to be scanned and signed and personally taken to Bangkok to UK immigration (contracted company) to be scanned onto their system and GFs passport handed in.

Visa was approved and came back within about 9 days.

She was given 6 month multiple entry

Worst case scenario the police stop you which is highly unlikely unless it’s a checkpoint, you pay a 500 baht fine and drive away. Kap Khun Krap!

Instead of buying a flight ticket you won’t use, get the ferry to Samui for the day and do it there

You can use a mailing service that will give you an address. Open and scan all your mail to you via email. Small monthly fee

I have entered on all kinds of visas over the years and was never asked for onward flight. The majority of my visas have been visa exempt either land crossings or flying in through either DMK or BKK.

Never been asked in 10 years by an immigration officer.

I have been asked by the airline in the UK on the odd occasion but that’s usually just some jobs worth.

Book a cheap flight to Singapore if you’re worried.

Personally I wouldn’t worry

Bank statements can be faked.

Tax return / payslip a little harder

Wet signature again suggests they want proof you’re not faking documents.
