Try AXA USA don’t use AXA Thailand even though there the same company

If you do have a problem while you’re traveling, you contact Axa USA and then they’ll put you in touch with Axa Thailand and they’ll coordinate everything that you need

Advantage of using AXA U.S. Is there regulated by US law if you go direct to the Thailand branch their regulated by Thai law

AXA travel Insurance , but buy it outside of Thailand from their US branch .

If you have a problem they will Coordinate With the Thai Head office.

I had it and made a claim and they were great, but you have to Contact the 24 hour USA line 1st if something happens, you can’t go direct to Axa Thailand

Try contacting the TAÇ ( tourist assistance center) in Bangkok , Providing you are not a resident, they will intervene on your behalf and try to negotiate a settlement and the other party won’t offer compensation. TAC will provide an attorney for you for free.

It’s a long drawn out process based upon what you said I think you have a strong case for them

Your likelihood of finding an attorney that will take it on Contingency is very unlikely and they will want to get paid upfront. If you do go that route go with an international law firm there are several of them in Phuket “just law” is one of them as an example

Schwab is great as they have 24-7 customer service if there is any problems plus you can set up a monthly transfer that will happen on any given day you choose ( excluding weekends ). When opening a Thai bank account they are all different on there exchange rates, I have found that Bangkok bank is the best and Kasikorn is the worse though I have not dealt with all the banks, I have dealt with most and one time or the other
