I think you're referring to the TDAC, Thailand destination Arrival Card and yes that's free, but a DTV is about 10k baht depending on embassy if u meet all requirements..(without an agent's assistance)

I came into Thailand on Oct 28, 60 days exempt and 30days extension. I will leave on 25th jan... Usually come back in December which I do yearly and stay for 90days for the holidays.. This time thinking of coming back in June 2026 for 60 days only for riding...will there be any issue with that? Thanks

went thru an agent, reached the airport and send a selfie at the specific gate. Agent came to pick me, went to the counter, there the IO started questioning and making it seem like it was impossible for me to enter, then move from 1 counter to another, later agent came back, told me additional payment required . Paid and went to another counter, no questions asked, stamped and welcome to the land of smiles. But won't risk it anymore, now getting DTV in process..

They went in the day before before closing time and camped the night .. 🤣 kidding..
