A non b visa is a business visa this is the visa you need to get a work permit.

A non o visa is a retirement visa.

These are completely different types of visa and the costs involved getting them are different.

With a non b visa if you are setting up your own company that you will be working for you will need a lawyer to set up the company, you will need to employ at least 4 Thai staff and pay their social security insurance you also need all the relevant licenses for your business. It's a massive ball ache and at least for the first time better to use an agent.

If you are working for a company they should do all the paperwork for your non b and work permit, you don't need a lawyer if this is the case.

For a non o the process is much easier if you have all your paperwork in order and the money sat in a Thai bank account you can do it yourself.

if the police stop you, there is no option to pay the fine, you can try to bribe the police to not hand you over to immigration but the police have no authority over your overstay meaning that if you do successfully bribe the police you will still be on overstay. Normally the police will hand you over to immigration you will then be fined but you won't be released until the fine is paid and you have a plane ticket out of the country. You will be taken from the IDC a few hours before your flight and escorted to the airport and then onto the plane and you will be banned from re-entering the country.

The best thing is not to be caught on overstay, if you make it to the airport without being caught you can pay your fine and leave possibly with a ban on re-entering depending on length of overstay, this is because being at the airport means that you do intend to leave, being caught anywhere else means you don't intend to leave and will almost definitely result in a stay at the IDC. I 1000% don't recommend a stay in the IDC I have done this and it is not a pleasant place.

what you are talking about is converting a driving licence, in this case he won't have to do a written test or the practical test but he will have to do the colour blind test, depth perception test and brake test, he will also have to do these in person at the transport office. You can't have anyone else do these for you as that is be illegal, additionally you have to be there to sit in front of their machine that takes your photo and produces your licence, if someone else sits in front of the machine it would be their photo on the licence.

so you think this scam is legal???? This is both a scam and illegal, do you really believe that it is legal for someone else to sit a driving test for you????

@Raquel **********
ummmm, you think the only way you can tell it's a scam is after you make a bunch of installments. I realised it was a scam when I read the bit about someone taking a driving test for you. Do you actually believe that you can get a legal driving licence when someone else takes the test for you, alarm bells should be ringing, it's the same with an educational degree you can't legally have someone else sit the exam for you, it's called fraud and it's illegal.

You've been scammed.

Only the extremely gullible would believe that they could obtain a legal driving licence this way.

Don't send them any more money as you will not see it or them again.

To get a legal driving licence in Thailand you have to go to your local transport office and actually do the tests yourself, you need your passport, valid visa, proof of residency/work permit may suffice if it has your address on it, medical cert (you may need 2 if you want both car and motorbike licence). If you are just convert your home country licence you will need that and an IDP.
