Slightly off topic. But you can use Truemove. I recently downloaded and to test it out I put 1000 in it. Transfers and scans like a charmmmm. But not all stores accept it. Good for 7-11 and utility payments aswell as mobile topups. These are the 3 services options I chose. There are 6 options, but u can only choose 3. If you have a drivers license, you can unlock all 6. (My dl expired so…). Requires a scan of the passport biodata page - thats all. No need for visa or anything else. Oh, a face scan via the app also.

Quality tourists for the safety and security of the country? I’ve never seen a foreigner go into a kindergarten or school in Thailand and shoot the place up - they’ve all been Thai. Isn’t that why the garbage bins are transparent…so we can supposedly see when an explosive is put inside? Wasn’t that the idea 20 years ago…and the metal detector machines at mall entrances…they’re there because of us foreigners????? This guy is looking at the wrong people.

Been asked this 3 times at swampy. My reply is always staying in my room coz I don’t know what else to do. They know I’ve been coming for the complete period exempt visas are permitted over past 20 years (sometimes 6 months a year) - what else is there to do? So I just be normal, be nonchalant... I was also asked once if I had a return flight, my reply was no but I can buy one now if you want. That’s it. I’m way too old and unbothered to pretty things up for them.

I did hear of one guy submitting his in the morning and getting approved in the afternoon. Was he being truthful? Hm…not so sure. But 3 days is still a record, and you had time to enjoy Hanoi!!!

I do remember reading somewhere, around 20 years ago, that Kasikorn was much easier to open bank accounts - even back when you could do so on a Tourist Visa.
