 You can avoid the 220 ATM fee if you go in branch, find a friendly branch

Depends on the UK bank card, if he'd used a card with zero foreign commission it would have been similar to Wise, plan ahead get the best card you can

 Probably is better to self insure as people will get their claims denied anyway due to undisclosed pre-existing conditions, insurance cancelled also
