Getting a non O is easy. If you plan to open a bank account on the first trip you need the non O, not visa exempt or tourist visa.

TDAC is only for immigration at the airport. You won't need it for anything else.

Better to wait until you turn 50 and apply for a non immigrant O based on age 50 in your home country.
